So you can get started straight away, we'll help you with our 4 best tips for the quick cleaning and care of your favourite pieces.

  1. CLEANING AND STORAGE
  2. MINIMISE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
  3. STAINED STERLING SILVER
  4. SPECIAL FEATURES OF GOLD AND ROSE GOLD

1. CLEANING AND STORAGE

We recommend that you clean jewellery regularly because the before and after result is always impressive. And it's very easy! All you need is some lukewarm water, a brush, washing-up liquid or soap and a cloth to dry the jewellery afterwards. We have uploaded a small tutorial on Instagram on this topic. Regular cleaning removes any deposits that could damage the surface in the long term. For storage: When you're not wearing your jewellery, store it in an airtight jewellery box away from sunlight.

2. MINIMISE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS

It is best to remove jewellery, watches and bracelets before showering, washing your hands, bathing or swimming. It also has a positive effect on the colour and shine if you do not wear jewellery when sunbathing and avoid direct contact with hairspray, perfume and cosmetics.

3. STAINED STERLING SILVER

You should not panic if your sterling silver jewellery tarnishes over time - this is quite normal and not a manufacturing defect! The copper contained in the silver alloy reacts with oxygen and the humidity in the air to form the grey-black silver sulphide, also known as 'tarnish silver'. How much the jewellery tarnishes is also influenced by your wearing and care habits as well as your skin type. Of course, there are several methods to remove tarnish and possible discolouration from silver jewellery quickly and easily. The easiest way to clean is with a silver or gold cleaning cloth. In addition, the jewellery can be cleaned with the help of a salt solution. To do this, dissolve plenty of salt in warm water and place the liquid in a plastic container covered with aluminium foil. The pieces of jewellery must be placed so that they touch the aluminium foil. After waiting a few minutes, your jewellery can be removed and then rinsed under running water and rubbed dry with a soft cloth.

4. SPECIAL FEATURES OF GOLD AND ROSE GOLD

While our jewellery in silver has no colour coatings and is therefore rather less sensitive, our gold and rose gold products are ion-plated. Due to the addition of copper to the material, the products tend to oxidise and change colour slightly when worn, despite all caution. This is completely normal and not a sign of inferior quality. But don't worry - our products will of course retain a golden or rose gold character even after some time of wear.
